I founded The Nutwood Collection in 2019 selling DHG fibre, Margilan silk and silk ribbon online through my eBay and Etsy shops. I pride myself on good customer service, and you can check my feedback on eBay at www.nutwoodcollection.shop and on Etsy at www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TheNutwoodCollection.
As a felter, DHG fibre has always been my favourite. There is a wonderful colour range, and the extra fine fibre is soft to the skin and migrates easily into silk and cotton, making it ideal for nuno felting. Cool water and gentle throwing will felt the fibre, particularly important when incorporating hand-dyed silk in a creation.
The Nutwood Collection is an authorised reseller for DHG (Dyeing House Gallery), an Italian company based in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. The company has a strong commitment to the environment and take care to minimize the ecological impact on every part of their production.
In addition to making their office space completely energy independent, the dyeing process complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and certified as conforming to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
They also expect the same commitment from the farms where they get their wool, and only work with companies that raise their animals with care and, in the case of merino, is certified to be mulesing free.
The exceptional quality of their wools reflects their high standards.
